Open Source Highlight: Cube.js

Cube.js is an open source analytics framework meant to answer the "lack of tools for software engineers who are building production, customer-facing applications and need to embed analytics features into these applications," its co-founder and CEO Artyom Keydunov explained in a blog post

Artyom and his team were initially scratching their own itch – Cube.js started as an engine to power their BI platform, Statsbot. However, it resonated more widely, leading them to release it as a standalone framework with 2 priorities in mind: customization and embedding. Other key early design decisions included the fact that Cube.js is visualizations agnostic, modular, and able to deal with large datasets.

All of this explains why Cube.js now has almost 8k stars on GitHub, where its well-documented repo features tutorials and examples that you may find useful – as well as a link to its Slack community.

If you are still wondering how you could take advantage of Cube.js, make sure to check out Cube.js Templates, a dedicated collection of open source packages to generate the front end apps you need.
