Mt Sinai's Hammer Lab has used, and developed, a variety of tools for analyzing genomic data on Spark and Hadoop. Ryan will discuss unique challenges such data present, discuss present and future data-intensive problems in genomics, and reflect on Spark's and the Hadoop ecosystem's applicability to such problems.
