Data Science and Engineering Call for Proposals

In Partnership with IBM we present: "AI Ethics & Fairness" - a brand new track for our SF '20 conference.

The AI Ethics & Fairness track was co-created with our friends at IBM and will cover various topics related to the ethical implications of the work we do as data professionals (understanding bias, privacy, data security, etc.). Some companies are just getting started with data, some have a more mature data team and process, and some simply have too much data and too small of a team to manage it! On top of it all, many are unaware, or perhaps unconcerned about the ethical implications of their work.

Throughout the Data Council event series, we've found that bringing together an assortment of different types and sizes of companies, as well as a mix of professional roles, is key to furthering a mature data industry. Assembling folks who are not afraid to openly discuss current challenges in the adoption of cutting-edge AI technologies is the best way to further the development of mature data organizations across industries. This track aims to share and spread that knowledge.

We believe that as our data teams continue to push the technical boundaries of what is possible, the ethical implications of massive data repositories combined with advanced data mining techniques, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning in general are raising important considerations in the area of data ethics that we need to cover.

Talk Submission Details

Presentation Time: 30-35 minute talk + 5 minutes of Q&A

We recommend that you purchase a ticket to the conference as early as possible to secure your seats, if you later get selected to speak at your chosen conference we will be happy to refund your ticket.
